There is nothing worse than spending a whole day on something totally unproductive and non-beneficial towards your future. The feeling of being stuck at home or sitting in front of the computer screen browsing the internet or Facebook could have been time spent more preciously. The importance of being busy is incredibly undervalued for what it’s truly worth…
The truth of the matter is, we don’t have much time left. The older we get, the less “free time” we have for things we wished we could have done.. You must go to work, pay the bills, commute to and from places, spend time with your family, and maybe save yourself a few minutes to breathe in-between all of that. Life is not easy, nor should it be spent relaxing your early years away.
If there is a time to relax, it’s later rather than sooner. This article is to help give you an idea of what productive things you could have been doing when time was spent carelessly.
In a day, the average person spends…
•7-8 hours sleeping.
•45 minutes on Facebook.
•90 minutes on the phone.
•2 hours idling around
•4-5 hours watching TV.
•4-5 hours on a computer.
•That is 8+ hours in front of a screen, whether it’s on a computer, TV, mobile phone or other gadget!
•And many more.
Some of these activities do overlap each other but the average time spent per day on rather unproductive things easily amount to over 10+ hours a day. Of course this does not apply to everyone but it sure is a wake up call for those failing to realize just how much time can be wasted in a matter of a day.
Now, the things you CAN do with all that free time are…
•Spend 1 hour doing physical activity whether outside or at the gym.
•Spend 1 hour reading a book to improve your knowledge.
•Spend 1 hour learning a new skill, sport, hobby, or instrument.
•Spend 1 hour learning a new language.
•Spend 1 hour being with your loved ones.
•And many many more.
And at the end of all this, you’ll still have plenty of time for the things you would consider “relaxing.”
There you have it, the importance of being busy fully realized by how we spend our time being lazy and unproductive. In no way am I saying to live your life without pleasant memories and good times but at the same time do not throw away the remaining free time you have left when success has yet to be achieved and money is still a concern.
“If you want to conquer fear, don’t sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.”
